I like this picture, specially the way everything reflects over the calm lake.
Construction of a $2 million, 5,000-square-foot Smart boutique dealership adjacent to the Cleveland Clinic, off Interstate 75 in Weston. Set to open begining next year.
I think it is some sort of a mushroom but not sure what it is. Any ideas?
UPDATE: thanks again to our friend from Coral Gables Dailyphoto, now we know it is a Stink Horn, "a very strange mushroom with a rotten smell".
Some orchis I placed on a tree more than three years ago and now they look great. No idea what kind they are, maybe our fellow blogger from Coral Gables can gives us a clue.
UPDATE: thank to our frined from Coral Gables Dailyphoto, we know the orange one is an Ascosenda and the white one is a Dendrobium.
Can your golf clubs really be happy? I wonder how they do it. This is a sign at the Bonaventure Golf Club
As I said yesterday, offices are open but construction on the outside keeps going. The new building is right at the city entrance on Royal Palm Blvd, between the Police Station and The Midtown Athletic Club.
Our City Hall has a new address, is not completly finish on the outside but they alredy moved. More building pictures tomorrow. Up to now they were in rented offices.
Looks like a schoolcrossingguards.com convention!! You see lots of them during school ours all around the city.
This is what we had yesterday, and then we called the "Sunshine State"?? LOL
The recently open Weston Library on Bonaventure Blvd.
Panna Express, a very popular spot in Weston, this is the convenience store of one of the gas stations, but is not your regular convenience store, it has all sort of Venezuelan pastries, including the famous Arepas, Tequeños, Empanadas and some more. You see more people buying food than buying gas.
Outside of one of our Publix Supermarkets. Carts to keep the kids busy.
The tallest building in town, The Vacation Village Resort. Love the color combination.
One of those sights that you know it will make a great picture.... Palm trees with the lake on the background.
Probably the biggest building in town, The Cleveland Clinic Florida Weston with more than 100 physicians practicing more than 40 different medical specialties, as well as a full-service hospital with 150 beds and 24-hour emergency department, located in Weston Rd.
The back side of the Town Center and the Band Shell.
The Band Shell behind the Town Center. Here is where we have the concerts and outdoor movies at night.
The Weston Town Center is a small shopping outdoor mall , with clothing and jewelry stores, salons and restaurants. People roam the brick streets and sidewalks, sit and sip coffee (from Starbucks of course!) or have their hair done. There's a band shell for open-air concerts, as well as outdoor movies at night, family days and more.
Tee #3 on the West Course at the Bonaventure Golf club. Ypu can see the bridge on the far end, goes from the tee to the green; a beatiful par 3.
This sure is one of the reasons Weston made the List of 100 Best Places to Live, Money Magazine edition. Don't you think the view is great? Later I'll show you a great sunset pic from this same spot.
Daily occurrence during this time of the year, sunny and hot in the morning, thunderstorms in the afternoon....
There are plenty of these ones around town, they are supposed to improve water quality by adding oxygen and circulation. In a small pond the surface disturbance will also help reduce algae and mosquito reproduction.
This is Glades Parkway, used to be Arvida Parkway, name changed on January this year. One of the main roads in our city.
The Regional Park at Weston is a first-class athletic and recreational facility that cost over $15 million to construct when it open in 2000. Whether you are looking for action packed sports or quiet relaxation, the Regional Park has something for everyone.
This is the Northwest City limit, on one side of the canal: the houses, on the other side: the Everglades! Great view, specially at sunset. Pretty cool if it wasn't for the alligators and mosquitoes!
Bonaventure Country Club, one of the 2 golf clubs in the city.
This is the nationally famous #3 waterfall hole that was recently voted one of the top eighteen holes in South Florida. Is part of the East course, it has played host to Tiger Woods, Sergio Garcia and Jesper Parnevik, all who have competed on the course in the Prestigious Dixie Amateur Tournament. The East course is one of top layouts and most challenging golf courses in South Florida, featuring water on fourteen holes.
Lots of ducks here, these ones getting ready for their first swim in one of the many city lakes.
This is the main city entrance, and what you see as soon as you get off I-75, the intersection of Royal Palm Blvd. (old Arvida Parkway) and Weston Rd.
